Who is your personal hero?
Siddhartha Gautama – a rich son of a king kept away from all world’s troubles, but curious to make direct hands-on experiences of this reality to question and challenge and not just trust authority, majority, written word or smart people. He who had the perseverance to continue the search
and come to his own invaluable realisation and hence be named Buddha.

In the world of on-going climate change human societies face the need to develop high adaptive capacities in order to survive and function effectively. Successful adaptation to future climate change does not only depend on policies, market instruments and technological solutions- the measures discussed and promoted most often. It also depends by a large extent on how we live and interact in our social worlds, in other words on our “social capital”, its richness, expanse, structure and functionality on individual, household, community, society and global levels. As individuals we often have limited influence on other aspects of adaptive capacity, however, social capital is our own construct, it depends on each one of us, on our everyday actions and attitudes. We CAN make a change in our own vulnerabilities to destructive external impacts, so- be social!
